BDMS Southern Group clinches a historic deal with Custom Assurance Placements to provide unique benefits for all international patients coming for elective procedures.
BDMS Southern Group hospitals are strategically located in top tourist destinations across Southern Thailand. Apart from their stronghold in the local/Thai market segment, they account for an ever-increasing number of international patients coming from near and far. Each year, the group attracts a combined 300,000 international patients, who find the “BDMS” brand to be trustworthy and up to world-class standards of healthcare. Through collaboration with Custom Assurance Placements, LTD. (CAP), a leading international specialty insurance/brokerage provider from the US, the group has initiated to offer a host of services including Medical Complication Coverage for all international clients in a bid to enhance their satisfaction and healthcare experience. It will be rolled out in Bangkok Hospital Phuket, Phuket International Hospital, and Bangkok Hospital Samui. The soft launch is on 11 July 2016, with official commencement on 1 August 2016.

The move will fill a gap in international patients’ healthcare by insuring them against arising medical complications up to 350,000 Baht (Terms & Conditions apply). The plan shall be in force over a period of 90 days from the date of a medical procedure. There is additional expense coverage up to 350,000 Baht for travel and accommodations (should the insured needs to travel back for a revision or corrective procedure). The benefits will automatically apply to any medical tourist or expatriate aged – up to 70 years, who undergoes an elective procedure worth more than 50,000 Baht (based on one single invoice/receipt). Non-elective procedures (e.g. emergency, trauma, accidents and critical care) are excluded. It is remarkable that these benefits are being including for all procedures’ within the package
prices – no surcharge or extra expense on the part of the patients. Medical tourism, as led by Phuket Plastic Surgery Institute (PPSI) and Bangkok-Phuket Dental Center, is expected to benefit greatly from this innovative project.
